These are some how-to’s on getting rid of a virus, I’ll update as need when I get more links. If you have a site that I should add to this list please email me, and you can find that on the about me page. I’ve also made a store to better let people buy what they need when they need it. This is a great way to support this site if you find this information is really useful. You can also recommend people to come to my store and I’ll be adding more when I see more. This is some of my recommendations when it comes to Anti-virus and Firewalls in general. The store will have more later on. I’ll be adding computers and laptops to the store when I see a good recommendation.
Software That I recommend:
- Malwarebytes [Buy it] — can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance.
- SUPERAntiSpyware Professional Edition 4.33 2-user License Lifetime Subscription
— My Review of SUPERAntiSPyware. I recommend this to all my clients!! It’s Cheap and no Yearly Costs!! You can get a Lifetime Subscription for $9.95. I wish all Antivirus Companies did this!!
- ZoneAlarm Pro 5 Firewall + Privacy Protection
— You need a better firewall that works, I don’t like the windows firewall.
- Hijackthis — This is the best software because it will scan all of the registry and tells you like a wiki what might it be. Run it, and when you get the LOG file you will want to go to HijackThis Log Analysis Site 1 and HijackThis Log Analysis Site 2.
- ESET Online Virus Scan
- BitDefender Online Scanner
- Kaspersky Online Antivirus Scanner
- What is a Virus and Why do I have one — Talks about ways you can get a virus and why hackers want to get on your system for the most part.
- Signs of a Computer Infection — This talks about the signs of getting a computer infections and ways to know.
- Uncovering a Virus/Trojan — This part of the series is for those who want to get there hands dirty and seeing if they can find the virus/Trojan themselves.
- Tools for Virus Removal : The ones I like to use! — This is part of the series where I suggest the programs that I recommend for virus removal and virus identification.
- Got a Virus? Got Spyware? This gadget will fix it!! — This is a good little Gadget for people who don’t have time to download any software. It cost 119.99$ for this little gadget but You get a years worth of software and I think this helps those who don’t have time do there own little research and fixing.
- Avg detected Trojan Horse Generic 12.htc? - This has a great article on how to use HiJackthis program and how to make sure you no longer have the virus.
- Spying on Spyware.ISpynow!! — a good little explanation on removing the Spyware.ISpyNow Virus
- Some Important programs to prevent yourself from having viruses and Malware!! — This article gives you some other programs to use other than Symantec. You have a wide variety of choices on Anti-virus programs and Firewall Choices. You also have some choices on Spyware removal programs.
- Pctools Antivirus Free Software — This is a free software so what can I say.
- >AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5.503 — This is another free one that can remove viruses really easily. Download this and you don’t have to worry to much.
- NOD 32 Antivirus System 3.0 - Retail Box
— This is another great company if you need antivirus. They have been good with their customers.
- Avast Home Edition — AVG does better than this one but people seem to like this so I have to add this for people who like this better than the others.
- Trend Micro Antivirus + Antispyware 2010
— This is great antivirus software light weight but does a good job in AV protection.
- F-secure Antivirus 2009 — This is just another good one if your interested.
- Clamwin Free Anti-virus — This is a good one because this is open sourced and easily can help detect so many viruses. This is good for those people who like open sourced.
- Avira Antivirus — This is a free antivirus software that some people like. I like AVG myself, it’s all user preference on which one you want to use.
- Prevx 3.0 — Helps detect some really nasty rootkits also helps identify Adware. Will remove the malware that is tended to harm your identity but you will have to pay for removal of all the malware on your system.
- McAfee’s Stinger —A good Virus killer that will look for Certain malware that maybe hard to remove!!
- SmitFraudFix — A great little program to get rid of those Desktop hijacks, those programs that take over your browser or other file system.
- CWShredder — This will find all those little Virus that like to Hijack your browser and other such programs also.
- Malwarebytes — can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance.
- Ad-Aware — This is a very good tool to get rid of some of the most annoying little viruses that try to fool you that you have a virus.
- Windows Security Trojan Scanner — a Free online scanner to let you see if you might have a Trojan.
- BitDefender Online Scanner — another good resource for finding the virus or spyware. This can be very handy if you need to verify a virus.
- F-secure Backlight — This is a Rootkit helps reveal and clean out root kits.
- Gmer Rootkit Detector — Here’s another to reveal any root kits.
- Sopho’s Anti-rootkit remover – This is good for those more known viruses and can remove several types of rootkits. This isn’t the only one I use, but it is a part of group that does the rootkit removing for me.
- Microsoft Rootkit Revealer – This is good for proving there is a rootkit. I’ve not seen it not detect a rootkit. Most of the time when I find a rootkit from the other rootkit revealers this one actually dos better with information.
- Panda Anti-Rootkit Remover — This one is another one I use when the other ones can’t remove it. Each one does remove certain rootkit differently and works better than the other.
- Aries Rootkit Remover from Lavasoft — This is good for those really tough rootkits but have some great benefits for removing some of the really tough rootkits.

- Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
- Carbonite Online Backup.
If your worried about loosing your important data, this is great way to keep all your data safe. 128 bit encryption and unlimited space for your backup.
- Why You Can’t Run you Antivirus or Taskmanger — I talk here and on to use be able to use your Antivirus Software to get rid of that Malicious Scareware and Spyware. You should however download the latest version of the antivirus database before you do this from the Antivirus software website.
- How to disable autorun the easy way!!! — To prevent Virus attacks from a USB Drive
- Skype isn’t always safe!! — Sometimes Skype isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
- AutoRuns For Windows — This utility is good for finding out what is started up in windows when you boot up. This is good for those who want to find where programs are in windows. Brought to you by Sysinternals.
- 5 things Microsoft Vista doesn’t want you to Know!! —This will help with those pesky little programs that like to load up when you boot up. This is good for those who want to boot into safe mode also.
- Roboform Review — A Password Manager that will help protect your passwords from keyloggers and other such phishing sites. I strongly recommend it to to all who are security minded.
