What will XBOX Live do now?

After a long and hard last few weeks with XBOX Live being up and down. There has been a class action lawsuit file against them.

Lawsuit Accuses Microsoft of breach of contract, breach of warranty, and negligent misrepresentation for not better warning subscribers that the service could suffer the kind of outages. These outages have been going on for quite some time. A few weeks in fact.

Earlier this week Major Nelson who is working in Xbox and has a podcast stated that "the pending outcome of the lawsuit means no more updates can be given to the users and paying customers. The progress of the repair is forcing Microsoft to be quite about it." The podcast that Major Nelson talks about this is:

Show #263 The one after CES

Does that mean Mommy is keep the child quite over this? I think so. I think Microsoft should be made to talk about this. This is customer rights and information and we have the right no know what is going on. We after all are paying for the service if your a Gold Member? Silver well you aren't paying for the service so you really don't have any rights. I think the government should step in and make them tell the truth. They have an obligation to the public whether they like it or not. Please leave comments on what you think!

The opening day of CES is the mob scene that will be reflected in the traffic, so Todd and Andy adopt a different strategy - based on trips that took over an hour on the bus in previous years. We leave at 7:00, eat at the Ventian and then walk through the casino to the Sands Convention Center.

CES 2008 Keynote Talks. What Bill talked about in the keynote!

Defining Tomorrow Technology

Gary Comes on first. He talks about the coming of CES and what to expect. Talks about the 4 days of CES. Gary talks about Basic, don't you remember how you use to use that to make programs by typing in commands one line at a time. Before Bill comes on, they sing "Do you believe in Magic" Showi
ng you the products of Microsoft.

Hey all here's what I've saw Bill talk about on his Keynote:

on the Screen was:
The Next Digital Decade
Video Bill Gates Last Day!!

Bill Balmer talks about his last day.
Kevin Turner also talks on the Video
Hillary Clinton has some humorous lines.

Bill talks about getting Software Driven information and making Website having richer and smoother look. He Also went into talk about the past about Handheld PC, and AutoPC and what is to come Media Room. Bill talks about the transition of him leaving his Job.

He then talks about software advances in eduction, and healthcare. He wants to connect people with application for all possible computer platforms with HD experiences and projections. He wants to make it an easily ways to connect people, and to use 3d Environments on the web. He talk about service sonnected ideas application driven and Natural User Interface (touch, speech, and sight). In which he wants to make it less intrusive and more better for people and easier to use.

Now here we come with Windows Platform and he talks about it being a building block. I'm to the point on Vista not being the best yet he thinks it will be a building block. All it's been is trouble with a capital "T". He wants to make windows Portable and Stylish. I don't believe this but Bill talks about Windows Live and having 420 million users, I do know that is a lot of people but that is all just statistical.

Vista improvements and all -- What Improvements

Mira Krammer comes on and talks about Windows Live. What you can do with live is Calendar events, photos, email address lookup, photo gallary Space, Video Searches and much more when it comes to Windows Live. Invites Bill to an Event and tells him to buy a snowboard.

Bill talks about Windows Live and how he can buy a Snowboard and how Silverlight has some unique Capabilities in that Aspect.

Bill talks Designing the NBC online Video 2008 Olympics and how that will impact our lives. MSN and NBC have teamed up to stream the Olympics 2008 using Silverlight as there platform of choice.

Robbie Bach then comes on stage talking about Vista and Windows Gaming. So here we are talking about Vista and is it a truely a gaming system. I think not we have been having problem with this from the get go. Directx 10 is not even working right, most games aren't even capatible with Vista and they claim it's a gaming system. Well I can go on longer but I have to get this done and go to sleep.

He then talks about ABC and Disney that will be on XBOX 360 Live. He talks about the Movie company MGM studios will be on XBOX Live (Rocky and Terminator and many more). He goes on to talk about Mediacenter Extender through TV and the XBOX. He wants to tell us Samsung and HP have come into making new Extenders for Microsoft as a 3rd party maker. Robbie talks about MediaRoom having 1 million television screens on its service. I Like the idea but I think it could be better. He talks about how DVR anywhere will help you watch Showtime, TNT, and CNN and that the British Telecom will incorporate XBOX360 and make it a settop box.

Bill talks about the Zune but I missed that part. so we will skip and go to the next part.

The Future of Microsoft, which is Visual Recognition. Bill shows us how it will be used in the future and that is so amazing. Oh and Robbie Owes Bill 20 bucks and they have a Guitar dual.

Robbie brings on TipperQueen Kelly Lion, the Guitar Hero queen who won from the game.

Bill of course has to out do him so he brings on Slash Velvet Revolver and guess who wins!!

As you can tell, I watched what I could and loved it. I do have to give credit to a friend her site is Tanjents.com she helped with capturing the video and sending to me. Thanks Barb. Hope you enjoyed this little information of what they talked about!! I know I did!! Yes I've got it wrong, sorry Barb, I was half asleep. ;)

Find Me Spot Satellite Messenger plus Global 911

Spot is a product you are going to want to keep your eyes on. This device allows you to communicate from anywhere in the world. Imagine you are in the Sahara and you want to leave a message to family and friends that you are ok.

Imagine that you are crossing the ocean alone and want someone to track you. Well Spot Satellite Messenger allows your position to be updated every 10 minutes and if you get in trouble Globall 911 is available.

The folks at FindMeSpot.com have contracted with a global rescue company that will come get you need help or give local authorities your location.

This device is what I consider a must for those that have para-gliders or any other sportsman or outdoor person that wants to be found, send a message, be rescued you name it. The price is so cheap no family that goes on a camping trip where cell coverage is not available needs one.

The unit cost 149.95 and a yearly fee of $99.95 check their company out at findmespot.com
[Via Blip.Tv and Geek News Central]
Well I really didn't know how to explain it. With that said I'd just let Todd explain it in his post!! I love the idea of having a way for someone to find me if I was in trouble though. I wanted to share this with everyone else!! Great Job Todd!!

CES-TPN-2008-01-05-6 Yoggie Security Systems Pentagon Level Security in a USB Stick

This is from the CES 2008. Todd Cochran, Interviews Yoggie Security Systems about there USB Security suite that protects your system and makes it Faster. Thanks Todd.
Yoggie Security Systems Pentagon Level Security in a USB Stick. What if I told you that you could remove all virus protection from your computer. Disable any firewals and replace all of that technology with a USB stick that would re-route your internet connection through the Gatekeeper Pico card and provide you the same level of protection.

Yoggie Security has a new device that they claim does just that. Their thought is you can remove all of the spyware, virus and firewall protection software and have a faster computer by protecting your computer with their USB
