Gadgets that look promising for Christmas! (2013)

Gadget craziness

Christmas is coming!

I thought it was high time to do another good post about Christmas gifts.  I how ever am going to do it a little more different this year.   I thought we should at least show you girls what men may want this year and why.

  • Google Nexus 7 — With Google slashing the Nexus 4 Unlocked phones by 100$ which means you can now do more things with an unlocked android phone than ever before.   The only downside is it has no 4G capabilities.   I am certain they are slashing the prices to introduce a 4G phone in the near future.
  • Nexus 10 — Which looks extremely nice and sleek is one of those ones that any man would love to get during Christmas!
  • Netflix — I am probably going to keep telling people this but at least this is one of those that you can’t go wrong with.   Great movies and great shows for the geek in all of us.
  • A new Phone — I have been helping my sister decide for a new phone and I would recommend a Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4 device from Virgin Mobile.   It is one of those that I have been wanting because I could use this at work!

Finally the one thing that you probably want to know about is what I’ve talked about in the past two to 3 years and here they are:

As you can see I’ve done a few post on the subject, afterall I know what I’d want at least that is a start for you as well.  I am sure it isn’t going to be simple for the man of yours but at least you know where to start!

Internet Security 2013 Scareware and You!

Interesting Story

My Brother-in-Law had this come up on his computer and he needed help getting it removed.  Some of the symptons were it would constantly say the file being executed had a virus and it would prevent you from loading any and all programs.   Anything you do with your computer whether trying to remove this from your desktop was a hassle.   I did have to do some things to remove it but I will talk about that in a few minutes!

Malwarebytes And SuperAntispyware!

If it was for Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware, this would of been even harder remover than previous.  I must say when I first install these a few years back, I didn’t know how well these guys worked and kept my system clean.   I decided to try these two on my broather infected system to try to remove this scareware.

Removal of this virus!

If you are like me you probably used Google to find out how to remove this virus but I think the virus makers are getting smarter because it wasn’t as easy as it was a few years ago.   They made it virtually impossible to find the answer with the computer you have that is infected.   So you have to hope that you have another system to do the searching for the answer of the removal.   Here is what I did to help remove this malware and scareware:

  • Startup in Safe Mode [LINK]
  • Login as Adminstrator
  • USE MalwareBytes and do a FULL SCAN, this will take a while and once done remove what you see.
  • Do a System Restore [LINK].  The Earlier the Better.

Once you have did those restart your computer then you should be able to install Malwarebytes to all users.  When you can do that you are basically home free.   Just install it again and do a full system scan, to help make sure you get rid of this scam and scareware malware.  Once you do all this, if Malwarebytes did what you needed, it might be time to upgrade to Buy Malwarebytes Now!

I really am glad I had a full version of Malwarebytes to remove this annoying little scam and scareware.   My brother is happy and I am happy.

Why I suspect there is not really a 3G outage right now!

plausible deniability

The Plausible deniability of the Virgin Mobile 3G Outage!

So it has been a week now and you’re probably asking the same questions.   Here are a few questions that I have and would love to see an answer to:

What is taking so darn long?

Why haven’t you warned us before you did this UPDATE?

Why Haven’t you told anyone?

Why isn’t there more information on the problem?

Why haven’t you updated your websites and other stuff to warn people about the problem?

I could keep going on and on about this and probably even start some conspiracy theories about this.   Here is what I know!

No UPDATES by Virgin Mobile!

No Media is covering this or talking about it!

Customers are extremely unhappy right now!

These are just a few that I have found.   I went digging around the internet about this and found only a handful of stuff about this.   I am no amatuer when it comes to searching Google, Bing, and yahoo for this type of information!   I’ve found one story about the outage but it was a mear reference to it being down nothing more nothing less.

So what am I missing?

Probably nothing, I am sure this has to do with Virgin Mobile wanting to thin out the herd sort to speak.  If they really wanted people to stay they would of put out press releases and text everyone in the Virgin Mobile Network and also posted it on their website and their technical support line.   I honestly think they want everyone to go to the 4G network and this is a way to have people either leave or move to a phone that has 4G LTE capabilities.   I’m not buying that this is something they didn’t plan and I hope you don’t either.   Until Virgin Mobile speaks up and starts proving to me they want my business, then I have to assume they are trying to soar the milk of 3G users and get them to go somewhere else.

Do you think I am right or Wrong?  Let start a Discuss and talk about this even more!
