I Pre-Ordered the Kindle Fire HD 7", Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, 32 GB [Affiliate Link] which isn't going to be until October 25, 2012, 249$. It looks promising and I really can't wait to test it out. It does Cost about the same as the Nexus 7 16 GB [Affiliate Link] version but you get way more room with this Kindle. They really packed this Kindle full of great stuff. Some of the things I am really interested in are:
Front Facing Camera (Wonder if I can use UStream TV With this?)
Kindle Free Time (I know my Kids will like to play games and this is one way they can and I can control it!)
Portability -- I hate caring my Laptop everywhere, this will decrease the need for that. Unless I buy the Bluetooth wireless keyboard, I will still my laptop for some stuff!
Although they have the Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi [Affiliate Link], It does cost 299$ and that seems kind of out of my price range. I can't wait to explore my Kindle Fire HD Fire when it comes out. I won't know more about it until I get it but when I do, I will definately talk about it some more. I might even use Youtube ore Some other service if I can to see how well the picture for the front facing camera. I can see that they are trying to get ahead of Google when it comes to portability. .
As many of my readers know, I once made a prediction about the Kindle Fire and it really came true! So I'm here today to give a few reasons why Amazon will eventually come to the Android Market Place in reguards to video on demand and their Amazon Prime Membership [Affiliate Link] benefit! Nothing I've say is always going to be true but it will be a very real possibility.
Amazon VOD is available on Apple!
Even though this is really new, Amazon recently announced that you can use their Video on Demand (VOD) on any Apple Product, such as the Ipad [Affiliate Link]. That isn't really a surprise in my book, I knew they would need to come to to the Apple Ipad but never knew when they would. It was really something that was going to have to happen because of their need to grow. They want people to sign up to their Prime Membership and thus people would want to be able to watch their shows and other such movies on a portable device such as an Ipad!
Kindle Fire sales Slow Down!
After their big launch of the Kindle Fire [Affiliate Link] last year, we are seeing sales of the Fire declining. The Price point of the Kindle is far cheaper to buy than an Ipad and thus people are looking for a cheap alternative to view their movies and shows without paying for the high Priced Apple Ipad! This isn't nothing new when it comes to competition. So it makes only sense that Apple and Amazon will want to get the most market share for their products and show people that there is more than one way to stream or watch shows that you've bought.
Android's are getting more popular!
With Android Devices being activated and having over 700,000 people using their devices according to a report Dec 2011, we can only assume the number is growing every day or every hour. As you can see we are seeing a growth in how many people have access to an Android device and thus it seems that we have no access on Android to have VOD from Amazon [Affiliate link]. We are seeing more and more devices that are going to be portable on Android in the near future and we already have a really nice portable device called the Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link], which I've heard is very popular because of it being light weight and very versatile!
Amazon Versus Netflix!
As Amazon competes with Netflix we are seeing that Amazon isn't on Android but Netflix is, thus if Amazon want to get people to use their service they will undoubtedly want to draw people away from Netflix and make it available every where. I'm almost certain that Amazon is wanting to provide the best service available and thus will want to take over on the streaming front. In order to do that, they will not be able to get ahead of Netflix until they capture some of the Android Users who don't have a Kindle Fire or who don't use the Apple Ipad!
These are just a few reasons why Amazon will be looking to be on all Android Devices in the coming few months. I'm really not cerain as to when that will happen but I know it will be very soon and thus we only have to wait and be patient.
Last couple of weeks, I’ve really been on a Star Trek Binge. I don’t know any other way to say it. It isn’t like I have any other choices. Shoot with the high temperatures and the heat indices being up in the 100’s, you really don’t have much choice but to stay in.
These are the voyages of the Star Ship (Insert name here)!
With this being a summer for me of unforgettable memories and hard work. I’d thought I would post some of the shows that I’ve been watching. After all, I’m sure you’ll want to know which ones I’ve watched and maybe even join the fun! I’ve got an Amazon Prime account [Affiliate Link], so this is something that might work for you too.
Star Trek Shows (Free Streaming w/Prime Membership) [Affiliate Link] — Star Trek Movies, Episode, Next Generation, Voyager Series, and Deep Space Nine Episodes are all available to watch free from Amazon. So you see, even I can’t beat the.
Doctor Who (Free Streaming W/Prime Membership) [Affiliate Link] — Some of the beginning shows from the 1960’s and earlier can be watched from Amazon. You even get the newer shows for free also. Go back in time and enjoy this series with the younger generation. They’ll love it, my kids all love to watch the Doctor Who Series.
Stargate (Free Streaming w/Prime Membership) [Affiliate Link] —Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, and Most to all the Movies can be watched for free.
I could go on and on about the shows that I’ve been watching but that would just be a list a mile high. I will recommend people buy the Roku 2 XD Streaming Player 1080p [Affiliate Link] to watch these shows instantly on your Television sets and thus having Netflix also can help you get the most of streaming media.
I must say that seeing this is definately something that I would like to get myself. After reading what it will do I am thinking this will make Ipad drop their price. I did predict this a few months back, and I knew it would have to be an Android tablet. This would greatly increase their market share and also get more and more people to buy their Premium Service and that will make it that much easier for people to watch their streaming media also.
Will it Succeed??
I don't know if it will but I am certain it will make a big impact on what happens in the future. I do hope that the $199 version will allow me to stream on the road without a wifi signal but I can only wait to see. I would guess that if not Amazon would start to offer services for this also probably through Sprint or Verizon since they already have deals with them on their Wireless Amazon Website but then again I could be wrong. Even though I have played around with the Ipad 2, I am still trying to figure out if it is really worth the money to buy it.
This is Eye candy!
I must say just looking at this tablet makes me want to pre-order it now but I will wait a little while before I start buying it because of the price. Maybe in the next few weeks they will drop the price because of the high demand of this tablet. They will make a killing on people buying it just to watch their favorite movies where ever they are without having to boot up their laptops or computers. I can am curious if they will let you download your amazon movies or shows to the tablet so you can view them while on the road or other places. I will definitely have to see in the next few months what Amazon has planned but that would be a nice feature to be able to take my shows and movies with me either on a SD cardor on the internal memory. Although I suspect that is in the design somewhere, I am hoping they do have a card reader on this device if not they should add that for people like to make even more space available for it. I can't wait to see all the reviews of this and how people like it. I wouldn't mind getting one of these myself to test and explore even more.
Let's face it we heard about stories of the Android Tablet that Amazon developing. In this post I talk about my reasons why Amazon would even develop or sell one. This is a must read for anyone who might want answers as to "Is Amazon making an Android Tablet?"
