One Tablet to Rule Them All!!

Tablets Now a Days!

I've recently talked about the Kind Fire HD and how I pre-ordered it.  I've been really having second thoughts about this because of some of the comments I've read on the internet about the original Kindle Fire.  You can bet that you've probably heard the stories of how the last Kindle Fire went.  I'm one of those who questions this stuff about some fo the newest reviews on Amazon [Affiliate Link]. I just don't have a good feeling about buying the Kindle Fire HD.   Some of the things that may be a game changer for me are:

  • No Charger!
  • 15$ dollar charge for no sponsor advertising(Called Special offers).
  • Amazon Market Place only, no Google Play ability.
  • No SD card expansion unlike the Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link].
  • Only 2 core unlike the Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link] with quad core!

Nothing is too compelling after all this to want to buy the Kindle Fire HD.   I just have to say that I am more than likely going to cancel my pre-order of the Kindle in lieu of buying the Google Nexus 7 which I can do more of.  The Only thing that I was truly going want from Amazon was the Amazon Video on Demand and streaming and storing of my videos for offline storage of my shows.  You see I like to be able to have videos to watch offline while doing other such stuff!

In the Coming Weeks!

I will be buying the Google Nexus 7 and since I've already have a 8 Gb Micro SD card, I will just use that to expand it to 24 Gb of storage and probably later on probably buy a 32gb micro SD card [Affiliate Link]!  In other words I'd make it almost like 50 gb of storage for offline viewing of my media files.  I basically just want to watch my video offline, I did however find out some interesting stuff about Google Play.   You can download up to 5 devices of videos and thus I thought I could only do it with Amazon Video on Demand.   I just hope Google gets more publishers to come to them and lets me watch my shows offline that I so love.   I will do a full review of the Google Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link]in the coming weeks once I buy it and play around with it.   I am sure I will find this tablet a very useful in the coming months and I see they have some great reviews of it all around.

Kindle Fire 32 Gb Pre-Ordered!

Amazon Kindle Fire 32 GB!

I Pre-Ordered the Kindle Fire HD 7", Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, 32 GB [Affiliate Link] which isn't going to be until October 25, 2012, 249$. It looks promising and I really can't wait to test it out. It does Cost about the same as the Nexus 7 16 GB [Affiliate Link] version but you get way more room with this Kindle.  They really packed this Kindle full of great stuff.   Some of the things I am really interested in are:

  • Whispersync [Affiliate Link]
  • X-Ray Movies Database (IMDB)
  • Front Facing Camera (Wonder if I can use UStream TV With this?)
  • Kindle Free Time (I know my Kids will like to play games and this is one way they can and I can control it!
  • Portability -- I hate caring my Laptop everywhere, this will decrease the need for that.  Unless I buy the Bluetooth wireless keyboard, I will still my laptop for some stuff!

Although they have the Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi [Affiliate Link], It does cost 299$ and that seems kind of out of my price range.   I can't wait to explore my Kindle Fire HD Fire when it comes out. I won't know more about it until I get it but when I do, I will definately talk about it some more.  I might even use Youtube ore Some other service if I can to see how well the picture for the front facing camera.   I can see that they are trying to get ahead of Google when it comes to portability.  .

Prediction: Amazon Video on Demand will come to Android!

The Kindle Fire!

As many of my readers know, I once made a prediction about the Kindle Fire and it really came true!  So I'm here today to give a few reasons why Amazon will eventually come to the Android Market Place in reguards to video on demand and their Amazon Prime Membership [Affiliate Link] benefit! Nothing I've say is always going to be true but it will be a very real possibility.

Amazon VOD is available on Apple!

Even though this is really new, Amazon recently announced that you can use their Video on Demand (VOD) on any Apple Product, such as the Ipad [Affiliate Link].  That isn't really a surprise in my book, I knew they would need to come to to the Apple Ipad but never knew when they would.   It was really something that was going to have to happen because of their need to grow.   They want people to sign up to their Prime Membership and thus people would want to be able to watch their shows and other such movies on a portable device such as an Ipad!

Kindle Fire sales Slow Down!

After their big launch of the Kindle Fire [Affiliate Link] last year, we are seeing sales of the Fire declining.  The Price point of the Kindle is far cheaper to buy than an Ipad and thus people are looking for a cheap alternative to view their movies and shows without paying for the high Priced Apple Ipad!  This isn't nothing new when it comes to competition.  So it makes only sense that Apple and Amazon will want to get the most market share for their products and show people that there is more than one way to stream or watch shows that you've bought.

Android's are getting more popular!

With Android Devices being activated and having over 700,000 people using their devices according to a report Dec 2011, we can only assume the number is growing every day or every hour.  As you can see we are seeing a growth in how many people have access to an Android device and thus it seems that we have no access on Android to have VOD from Amazon [Affiliate link].  We are seeing more and more devices that are going to be portable on Android in the near future and we already have a really nice portable device called the Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link], which I've heard is very popular because of it being light weight and very versatile!

Amazon Versus Netflix!

As Amazon competes with Netflix we are seeing that Amazon isn't on Android but Netflix is, thus if Amazon want to get people to use their service they will undoubtedly want to draw people away from Netflix and make it available every where.   I'm almost certain that Amazon is wanting to provide the best service available and thus will want to take over on the streaming front.  In order to do that, they will not be able to get ahead of Netflix until they capture some of the Android Users who don't have a Kindle Fire or who don't use the Apple Ipad!

These are just a few reasons why Amazon will be looking to be on all Android Devices in the coming few months.  I'm really not cerain as to when that will happen but I know it will be very soon and thus we only have to wait and be patient.
